Personal Information

We may collect personal information from you, including information about your name, age, contact details, date of birth, event registration status, donations, and your interactions with us.

We collect your personal information in order to carry out our role and function as an organisation, inform you about services, events and activities, comply with legal requirements (e.g. charitable donations), process payments, and for event registrations.

If you sign up to WBC News you will receive emails about what’s going on in the life of WBC. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe, we include unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

How we protect your information

  • We will only use personal information for the purpose for which we collected it.
  • We keep your information safe, on our digital systems and we protect our data with all reasonable technical and process controls.
  • We restrict access to your personal data to staff who need it to deliver services and information.
  • We will not hold personal information for longer than the purpose for which it was required. At that point we will securely destroy it by erasing all digital and physical files.

Photography and video

During services and events, we may take photographs and video footage, including shots where individuals and groups are identifiable. We may use these images to promote and celebrate our ministries and events, and in print and digital formats (e.g. on our website, social media, WBC News, brochures). In line with our WBC Kids Safety & Protection Policy, we do not take photographs or videos where individual children can be clearly identified, unless with parental/caregiver permission.

CCTV

We have CCTV devices installed on the exterior of our building. Footage is recorded and retained for security and safety purposes and is only viewed by authorised staff. The footage will not be made public unless authorised by the individual(s) shown in the footage or in consultation with the NZ Police. The footage will be deleted after it is no longer required by WBC for security or operational reasons. There is signage on our building exterior advising of the presence of CCTV devices.

Third party websites

WBC also uses selected third party suppliers to deliver services such as email, website, and event registration; these suppliers have comparable privacy policies and processes for protecting your personal information. We use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to share content and promote what’s happening at WBC in a public space. These networks have their own privacy statements and they do not have access to your personal information that we hold.

Website

We collect non-personal identification information about your use of our website to compile statistical information about the use of our website. Our website may use cookies to enhance user experience. You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies, but some parts of our website may then not function properly for you.

Consent

WBC has the discretion to modify and amend this policy at any time. When we do, the date at the bottom of this document will be updated.
